A South Stage performance, an electronics drop-off day and the last chance to vote in our Readers' Choice poll.

1. South Stage. The Newton South High School will hit the stage tonight at . The show starts at 7:30 p.m. and tickets are $8.

2. Straw vote. The Newton School Committee last night took a straw vote on . The committee voted unanimously to approve the budget, but a final and official vote will not come until later this month. Stay tuned later this morning for a full story. 

3. Last day to vote! for the best place in Newton to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. is still in the lead, but your votes and comments could change all that! Voting closes 9 a.m. today and we will announce the winner at noon.

4. Special drop-off for electronics. Do you have some electronic items you need to get rid of? You can drop them off at the Rumford Avenue recycling depot today and tomorrow during special electronic drop-off days. There will be a $12 charge to recycle each TV or computer monitor, all other appliances and electronics accepted free-of-charge. You can drop off items anytime between 8 a.m. and noon today and tomorrow.

5. Off-Leash Area Working Group. The Off-Leash Area Working Group will meet today at 9:30 a.m. in room 202 at .
