Former Rep. Joe Kennedy Will Not Run For Governor Or AG
The announcement comes after Gov. Charlie Baker announced Thursday that he will not run for reelection in 2022.

NEWTON, MA — Former Rep. Joe Kennedy will not run for governor or attorney general in Massachusetts’ 2022 race, according to Politico.
Kennedy seemed to be an obvious Democratic candidate after Gov. Charlie Baker and Lt. Gov. Karyn Polito announced that they will not seek re-election. However, Politico’s Lisa Kashinsky said Thursday that a close source to Kennedy confirmed that he is not running.
Baker and Polio’s released their decision in a joint statement Wednesday morning, a decision that is expected to cause a scramble for the next governor.
