Gevvie Stone Takes Silver in Women's Single Sculls

NEWTON, MA – Gevvie Stone is bringing a silver medal home to Newton.

Stone took second place in the women's single sculls final Saturday, finishing the race with a time of 7:22.92. Australian Kim Brennan took gold, pulling just ahead of Stone with a time of 7:21.54.

But Stone held a comfortable lead ahead of bronze medalist Duan Jingli, of China, who finished more than a second behind the Newton native.
