Half Naked Man At An Open House And The Best Place In Newton To Lose A Fight? Police Logs

Police responded to a report of a man undressing at an open house and a fight in an emergency room - among other calls so far this week.

NEWTON, MA — There were a number of reports of larcenies, a couple car break ins and a fight in an emergency room this week so far. The following is from Newton Police, who stress that just because someone reports an incident does not mean that's the way it happened. An arrest does not indicate a conviction. Saturday, June 10

Lock your car: An Arbor Road resident reported their car was broken into overnight, though they said they didn't think anything was missing. Similar reports came in from Rotherwood and Allerton roads.

It turns out ok in the end: A Woodward Street resident reported their car was stolen overnight from their driveway. Newton noted that Boston Police found the car in Dorchester, though no arrests were made.

Make yourself at home?: Someone reported that during an open house at a home for sale on Rangeley Road, visitors found a man upstairs in one of the bedrooms who appeared to be getting undressed. Someone asked the man what he was doing and tried to figure out who he was but the half naked man grabbed the home's listing sheet and left in a rush. Residents said it looked like one of their cosmetic drawers appeared to be open and a purse was moved in a closet but nothing appeared to be missing. The person who reported what police called suspicious activity described the man as white and about 6 foot tall in his late 20s early 30s with brown hair.

Vandals: Someone reported vandalism on Hawthorn Street.

Stranger danger: A resident of Webster Street called police just about 5:30 p.m. to report someone who he didn't know was ringing his doorbell and knocking loudly at his back door. It came in as a possible break in in progress.

The best place to lose a fight? Someone at Newton Wellesley called to report a fight in the Emergency Room area. Police arrested Anthony Delosa, 33, of Gilbert Street in Waltham.

It begins: Someone called police to Crystal Lake to check out Cronins Cove.

Monday, June 12

Seriously, lock your car doors: Someone on Floral Street called to report it looked like someone had broken into his unlocked Toyota while it was parked in his driveway and taken some change from his console cup.

No shirt, no phone for you: An employee at Dunkin Donuts on Washington Street called police just after 1 p.m. to report a man he described as black, about 5'9 with a muscular build, no shirt, backpack and wearing cargo shorts came and asked to use a phone. The employee obliged, turned to help customers but then later realized the man had walked out of the shop without giving him back his phone.

Unattended baby gift crawls away?: An Andrew Street resident called to report she set aside gift in a gift bag out on her front porch to give to her friend. While she was waiting for her friend she went out back to water some plants. When she came back she realized the gift, with the baby clothes and costume jewelry was missing.

Larceny: Someone called at 4:39 p.m. to report a theft on Beaconwood Road.

Hot day: Someone called police to come check out Crystal Lake Rogers Street.

Tuesday, June 13

Warrant arrest: Edwin Vladimir Alvarado, 20, of Adams Street was arrested on a warrant.

Traffic violation leads to OUI arrest: Police were dispatched to the area of Centre Avenue and Park Street for the report of a crash with air bag deployment. Police arrested Jungryun Baik, 30, of Coral Avenue in Winthrop, under arrest for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. They also cited him for marked lanes violation.

Larceny: There were three calls to police about thefts including one on Wamesit, one on Commonwealth, and one at an apartment on Washington Street.

Bar fight: Someone called police in the evening to report an assault and battery happened at Mick Morgans on Needham Street.
