Handgun Seized From Newton Teenager's Home: Police
Newton police they confiscated a handgun with more than 50 rounds of ammunition from a teenager's home on Thursday.

NEWTON, MA â Newton police said a gun and more than 50 rounds of ammunition were seized from a teen's home on Thursday.
Police said patrol officers responded to the home of the teen â who was not identified â based on reports that a "child was in possession of a handgun." Police said a gun with a 17-round magazine and more than 50 rounds of ammunition were confiscated from the home.
Police did not say what, if any, charges the juvenile is facing.

"This weekend is National Gun Violence Awareness Weekend, it is a time to honor and remember victims and survivors of gun violence," police said.
Police credited Sgt. James Selig, Officer Jimmy Pellegrini and Officer Matthew Colella for their work on the case.
