How Many People Convicted of OUI Had Their 'Last Drinks' in Newton?

A recent Boston Globe report outlined where those convicted of an OUI between 2012 and 2016 last drank before being charged.

NEWTON, MA – Good news for Newton – between 2012 and 2016, the city saw fewer "last drinks" consumed than in some of the surrounding areas, but there were still a few people arrested for an OUI after drinking at a Garden City joint.

Newton has been the "place of last drink" for 33 people who have been arrested and convicted for operating under the influence in the last four years, according to the Boston Globe. The Globe reported that the number represented people arrested between 2012 and 2016 who said they had their last drink at a bar or restaurant in Newton.

There have been just 0.4 "place of last drink" reports per capita in Newton (1,000 residents).
