ICYMI: Newton Police to Hold Cops & Cones on Thursday

The spinoff of "Coffee With a Cop" has proven to be a hit among police departments.

NEWTON, MA – The Newton Police Department has announced its latest community event - "Cops & Cones," a hot-weather spinoff of the popular "Coffee With a Cop."

The department is offering residents the opportunity to meet with officers for a discussion over their favorite treat at Cabot's Ice Cream and Restaurant.
Attendees will also be able to participate in raffles at the event.

According to the "Coffee With a Cop" website, the initiative began in Hawthorne, CA in 2011 and has since spread to more than 3,000 communities nationwide. The purpose of the program is to establish a dialogue between police and the communities they serve.
