It's A Boy: Newton City Councilor Auchincloss, Wife Welcome Baby

Newton City Councilor Jake Auchincloss and his wife Michelle welcomed their son to the world Wednesday.

NEWTON, MA – Newton City Councilor Jake Auchincloss and his wife Michelle welcomed their son, Teddy Auchincloss, Wednesday night.

“Michelle and I are doing well,” Auchincloss said. “In the midst of a challenging time, we are grateful to have something to celebrate. We’re looking forward to spending time together as a family.”

Jake Auchincloss is running to represent Massachusetts’ Fourth District in Congress. After graduating from college, he joined the Marines and commanded an infantry platoon in Afghanistan and a multi-national special operations mission to Panama.

Auchincloss plans to host a health update webinar with Dr. Ashish Jha on April 16. Ashish is Newton resident, physician, and director of the Harvard Global Health Institute. Auchincloss has been hosting a series of webinars and Q&As with experts during the stay-at-home advisory.

He told constituents that the rest of his time for a while will be offline to be with his family "and to comfort Donut, our dog, as she grapples with this new addition," he joked.
