JCC Maccabi Games Holds Tryouts For Teens

Tryouts for the JCC Maccabi Games®, an annual Olympic-style sporting competition for Jewish teens ages 13-16, will be held on January 26.

Tryouts for the JCC Maccabi Games®, an annual Olympic-style sporting competition for Jewish teens ages 13-16, will be held at the Leventhal-Sidman Jewish Community Center (333 Nahanton Street) in Newton on Tuesday, January 26 and Tuesday, February 2 from 8:00-9:00 pm. Boston’s JCC Maccabi Games delegation will send teams to participate in boys baseball/ice hockey and boys and girls basketball/soccer/lacrosse. Individual sports to be represented by the Boston delegation are dance, tennis, golf, table tennis, and swimming. Participants must be age 13 by July 31, 2016. The games take place in Stamford, CT, from August 7-12. A $150 deposit is due at the time of the tryouts which is 100% refundable until March 15, 2016. The JCC Maccabi ArtsFest for Jewish teens ages 12-17 will also be held in Stamford during the same dates. This event is geared for those interested in acting/improv, culinary arts, dance, musical theatre, visual arts, journalism, photo-journalism, vocal music and rock band.
