Lasell Soccer Star Makes School History
Senior Mack Kingman is Lasell's first female All-American after being named to the D-III women's second team.

NEWTON, MA – A senior defender on the women's soccer team at Lasell College made school history last week, becoming the first female athlete to earn All-America honors.
Mack Kingman was named to the NCAA Division III Women's All-America Second Team Thursday. She is also the first Great Northeast Athletic Conference female honoree, and the only player, male or female, to receive the NSCAA All-America honor this year.
"Being chosen as an All-American is an honor and a surreal feeling. It means even more ending my soccer career here at Lasell with such an award," Kingman said in a statement. "I am extremely thankful for the award and the opportunity to represent my team and Lasell College as a whole."

Kingman started in all 22 games this season, anchoring a defense that allowed just 18 goals all year and recorded 10 shutouts in the team's 18 wins. She was named the league's Co-Defensive Player of the Year and earned her first spot on the First Team All-Conference.
"It is an honor for us to have Mackenzie recognized as an All-American," Director of Athletics Kristy Walter said in a statement. "She has made an incredible impact on the women's soccer program during her time here and the recognition is well deserved."

Kingman is third in Lasell's record books with 85 games played throughout her career, starting in all but one. In four years, she netted four goals and 12 total points, playing in instrumental role in Lasell's four GNAC championships during her tenure.
"Mack has deeply impacted our program since day one of her freshman year," Coach Vito LaFrancesca said in a statement. "Mack came to us as an attacking midfielder and played a little defense her sophomore year. It wasn't until this year that she converted to a permanent defender. Much of our success as a program that we have accomplished, has be through her leadership and talent."
Kingman is the third All-American athlete in Lasell history, after Mike Skelton in 2013 and Jose Guitian in 2009.
