Local Bank To Pay For Newton Meters On Small Business Saturday

The Village Bank is hoping free parking will help support Newton's small businesses on Nov. 27.

NEWTON, MA — The Village Bank, a Newton-based financial institution, will pay for parking on all meters in the city during Small Business Saturday on Nov. 27.

The bank hopes that this effort will encourage patronage of Newton-based businesses and make it more convenient for residents to keep their money in the local economy.

“As a community bank, The Village Bank understands how important local businesses are to our communities,” said Joseph De Vito, President and CEO of The Village Bank, in a statement. “Our goal is to not only encourage members of the community to support businesses, but also to help businesses make the most of the selling season.”
