Lumière To Offer Wine Tastings, Art Previews, Free Dessert

The West Newton restaurant has become more of a casual bistro since it opened, says owner Jordan Bailey.

NEWTON, MA — Lumière in West Newton known for its intimate feel and farm-to-fork ever-changing seasonal menu and bar with specialty cocktails is working to evolve from a special occasion restaurant into a neighborhood destination.

To that end, Owner and Chef Jordan Bailey has started offering a number of events - from wine tastings, to art previews, to special benefit dinners — each week he says are perfect for a date night or friends looking for something different around dinner time.

"We want to deepen our relationship with our guests and create unique experiences for them so we’re hosting regular events like art openings, wine tastings and more," said Bailey.

The chef said he wants locals to stop by every night of the week to sample his bistro's classic comfort food in a spot where servers and staff learn their names.

“I’m eager to create a hub for the local community," he said Lumière has become more of a casual bistro since it opened in 1999 under chef and previous owner Michael Leviton.
