Man Gets His Car Stolen While Picking up Chinese Food, White Pine Home Broken Into: Newton Crime Log

The following are excerpts from the Newton police log. An arrest does not imply a conviction.

Tuesday, April 4

• Police were dispatched to Prince Street for a report of a past breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The caller told police her car had been broken into while it was parked unlocked in the garage.

• Police were called to Wolcott Street for a smashed window to a vehicle. The caller said she went to her vehicle that morning and found the rear passenger's side window smashed. The doors were still locked and nothing was disturbed inside the vehicle, she told police. There were several other cars in the driveway that had no damage.

• A breaking and entering was reported at a home on White Pine Road. The caller said the home was broken into sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 7 p.m.

• A car was reported broken into on Fenwick Road. The caller said sometime overnight someone entered his unlocked Saab while it was parked in the driveway.

Thursday, April 6

• Odanys Esteban Urbaez-Puello, 25, of Lynn, was arrested and charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and failure to comply at a red light.

• A larceny of a motor vehicle was reported on Austin Street. The caller said he had parked his 2008 Toyota Sienna in the alleyway off of Austin Street, between Lobster Wok and Bank of America, around 11 p.m. The vehicle was running and the keys were in the ignition. He went into Lobster Wok and when he came out 20 minutes later, the car was gone.
