Man Steals Purse From Car While Children Inside It: Newton Police
A woman reported she came back to her car where her daughters were waiting for her. And one asked why a strange man came to get her purse.

NEWTON, MA — Two small girls were unharmed June 1 after a man came into the car on Murray Road where they were waiting for their mother in the driveway, Police said. In a span of about two minutes a man came into the car, grabbed a purse from the car and ran off.
Police said the woman was packing up to go somewhere when she left her daughters in the car, which was running, to go grab the family dogs and shove off. When she got back, one of her daughters asked why a man had come to get her purse.
This is the latest and most brazen in a recent uptick in car break ins across Newton this year. So far this year there have been 102 reports of items being stolen from a car in the city. In the past week there have only been reports of three such car break ins and 10 in the past month.

On June 1, there was a report of a purse stolen from a car on Oak Ave, and there was another report of a car break in at the Grove Street garage. In the Grove Street incident, someone reported their gray Honda Accord Sport was left on cement blocks, both passenger side tires were at an angle and partially removed, the front passenger side window was smashed and the glove box was open with paperwork strewn about car and outside on pavement.
The driver side wheels had been removed and a car jack was still wedged under the vehicle when the owner of the car came out to see what he said were two men approx 5'10 medium builds with hoodies, masks and tools in their hands at the Accord. The car owner said he turned around to leave and saw the two men get into a gray colored minivan in which a third person was already waiting and the car raced out of the parking garage in what looked like a silver Honda Minivan with custom rims and tinted windows.
