MassChallenge Launches Innovation Center in Newton
The startup accelerator, along with the Cambridge Innovation Center, celebrated the opening Wednesday night.

NEWTON, MA - Bay State startup accelerator MassChallenge and the Cambridge Innovation Center unveiled their new innovation facility in Newton Wednesday night.
The aim of the Newton Innovation Center is to create a workspace for startups to collaborate, network and hone their ideas using resources available through MassChallenge.

At the opening Wednesday Newton Mayor Setti Warren spoke alongside MassChallenge CEO and co-founder John Harthorne and Cambridge Innovation Center CEO Tim Rowe.
According to the Newton-Needham Chamber of Commerce, the Newton expansion is MassChallenge's first foray outside of the Boston Innovation District. The startup accelerator will also host interns from Mayor Warren's summer high school internship program and hold workshops on business practices alongside the Newton Free Library.
