Max and Leo's in Newton Corner Recognized for 'Crazy Pizza'

The Newton Corner restaurant has a coal-fired oven.

The Phantom Gourmet says Newton Corner’s Max and Leo’s makes some of the craziest pizzas in New England.

Phantom highlighted the pizzeria’s “L’Umina” (pears, prosciutto, and ricotta) and pulled pork (smoked mozzarella and smoky-sweet barbecue sauce) pies.

Other establishments that made the list included the Portland Pie Company (several New England locations) for its cheeseburger-inspired Crescent Beach Pizza and La Festa (Dover, N.H.) for its Garlic Knot Pizza.
