Meet Officer Leo, Newton's New Community Resource Puppy
Newton police received over 700 name suggestions from community members.

NEWTON, MA â Newton police have officially chosen a name for their new Community Resource Dog, who will now be known as Officer Leo.
The department received over 700 name suggestions from community members over the last week and chose the name that seemed to fit the young English Cream Golden Retriever the best.
Now that the puppy has a name, he will begin 18 months of consistent training, during which he will be taught to provide comfort in difficult situations, assist in finding people who are lost or missing, and be out in the community with his partner meeting people and making friends
