Men Broke Into Apartment While Someone Was Sleeping: Newton Police

Police are looking for information about an incident that was reported last week.

NEWTON, MA — Just before 2 a.m. Wednesday morning last week a Commonwealth Avenue resident woke up, startled by the sound of a stranger's voice in his room.

He later told the police he heard one man say to another something about leaving. The resident got up out of bed and saw the apartment door to his kitchen had been forced open and called the police. He reported that a black pack containing a Dell laptop, along with a monitor and miscellaneous work documents and a key card to access work were all missing.

Officers arrived, and searched the area, including the building next door, since the two buildings are connected by a basement entrance, according to police.
