Missing BC Student Was Conscious: Police
Dana Morrissey was alert when police found her in the woods near Hammond Pond Monday evening.

NEWTON, MA - A Boston College student reported missing after not showing up to her graduation was "alert and conscious" when she was found, police told Patch on Tuesday.
Dana Morrissey, 23, was carried out of the woods near Hammond Pond on a stretcher and taken to the hospital Monday night.
Newton Police Department spokesman Lt. Bruce Apotheker said Tuesday that Morrissey had no life threatening injuries.

She was found by a state K-9 trooper and his partner, Maximus, according to Massachusetts State Police.
Morrissey, originally from Winchester, was reported missing by her family Monday afternoon; she was expected to attend the Boston College graduation ceremony earlier in the day.

Her parents became concerned when they tried to contact her and her phone was off. Emergency crews launched a sprawling search of the Hammond Pond area in Chestnut Hill, where an Uber had dropped her off that morning.
