NEWTON, MA — Newton will add a seventh vehicle to its NewMo transportation program on Monday, Jan. 10 so more residents can get a ride to any place in the city they need to go.

NewMo, which is providing approximately 800 trips per week and over 7,000 rides since October, provides anyone age 13 and older with rides anywhere in Newton for just $2. Service begins at 7 a.m. and run through 6:30 p.m., giving teachers and students a way to get to school and activities, and the average wait time is around 16 minutes.

Due to the Omicron COVID-19 variant, the city will also begin limiting vehicles to two passengers instead of three starting Monday. Because of the added vehicle, no service impacts are expected.
