Newton Bakery Crawl Returns For Fifth Straight Year

NEWTON- For the fifth straight year, the Newton Bakery Crawl is returning on Friday, Sept. 25, and Saturday, Sept. 26.

During the Crawl, visitors can explore more than 20 of Newton’s bakeries and enjoy the sweet treats they offer. Visitors will also get to try special menu items and be able to take advantage of promotions.

For Bettina Scemama, owner of Bettina’s Bakery in Upper Falls, it is a weekend they have looked forward to every year since the crawl began.

“This is our fifth year participating in it,” Scemama said. “It’s one of our favorite events because every year we welcome lots of new visitors who then become loyal customers.”

For those who call Newton home, it is also a way to support local businesses.

“The Newton Bakery Crawl is a fun way for families, friends, and anyone who loves baked goods to explore our village centers while supporting Newton’s small businesses,” said Lauren Berman, Newton’s Director of Economic Development. “You can map out a bike route, visit a bakery between weekend activities, try something new, or stock up on longtime favorites. Every purchase directly supports a local business.”

The crawl is free, and no registration is required.
