Newton Billionaire Lands on Forbes Fortune 400

Can you guess who made the list?

NEWTON, MA – A million dollars isn't cool. You know what is cool? A billion dollars.

(That was Justin Timberlake in "The Social Network" -- for most of us, a million dollars would be very, very cool.)

But for the folks on the Forbes 400, a million dollars was a stepping stone on their way to becoming the richest in the country.

And in Massachusetts, there are six billionaires on the Fortune 400, including one from Newton.

Jim Davis, who owns the shoe and athletic apparel company New Balance, was ranked No. 94 in the country with a net worth of $5.2 billion.

Here's a look at the rest of the Bay State billionaires on the Fortune 400:

No. 29 - Abigail Johnson, worth $13.1 billion, is CEO and president of mutual fund behemoth Fidelity. She graduated from Hobart and William Smith and Harvard.

No. 68 - Edward Johnson, III, worth $7.1 billion, is the Chairman of Fidelity. He graduated from Harvard.

No. 102 - Robert Kraft, worth $5.1 billion, is the Chairman and CEO of the Kraft Group and, of course, owner of the New England Patriots and New England Revolution. He bought the Patriots in 1994 for $172 million. The team is now worth over $3 billion. He holds degrees from Columbia and Harvard.

No. 214 - Amos Hostetter, Jr., worth $3.1 billion, "made a fortune in the 1990s as cable TV pioneer." He has degrees from Amherst and Harvard.

No. 374 - Phillip Ragon, worth $1.8 billion, owns Cambridge-based InterSystems, which Forbes says sells software enabling hospitals and banks to analyze big data. Ragon graduated from nearby MIT.
