Newton Brawl, Alleged Knife Flash, Leads To Arrest of 2 Newton Teens
Police said when they questioned a teen about a recent fight, his friends showed up and the situation deteriorated and they arrested two.

NEWTON, MA â Newton Police arrested two Newton teens and have warrants out for another two, following an incident involving a knife, underage drinking and a fight on June 23, near the Weeks Low Income and Senior Housing close to Crystal Lake.
Friday night someone called police to report a group of about 10 people had gotten into a brawl and that a knife was shown during the fight. on Hereward Road. As police were responding, some teens left the fight and started walking toward Center Street.
An officer stopped a teen fitting the dispatcher's description on Norwood Avenue and noted he smelled of alcohol. According to a redacted police report, the teen seemed to refused to give police his identification.

Three other teens came to see what was going on with the one and police said things went south. According to the report when police attempted to pat frisk one, he started to scream at them.
"At this time all four parties became extremely agitated, screaming at officers and making threats," according to the redacted report.

Police radioed for backup as the situation deteriorated and more people, both in cars and on foot, started to gather to see what was going on. Upon pat frisking police said they found a USMC K-Bar knife in a brown sheath, in one of the teen's waist bands. The blades on such knives run around 7 inches.
A 17-year-old from Newton was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct, assault and
battery, underage drinking and assault with a dangerous weapon. He was also charged with armed with intent to rob. And he was cited for being in possession of marijuana as someone under 21.
A 16-year-old Newton boy was arrested for disorderly conduct, underage drinking, carrying a dangerous weapon, assault and battery and armed with intent to rob as well.
Police noted they are looking to get a warrant for the arrest of the the 18-year-old Newton man out of Newton District Court and the 15 year-old Newton, out of Waltham Juvenile. Both parties will be charged Disorderly Conduct, Armed Assault, Intent to rob, and Assault & Battery, according to police.
