Newton Christmas Tree Pickup Delayed Due To Covid Staff Shortage
Tree collection for residents with a Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday collection day will take place the week of Jan. 17.

NEWTON, MA — Christmas tree collection in Newton is delayed due to COVID-related staffing shortages, said Mayor Ruthanne in a community update Thursday.
Tree collection was initially supposed to take place from Jan. 3 to 14 on regular trash and recycling days. However, tree collection for residents with a Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday collection day will now take place the week of Jan. 17.
The city will only collect organic, bare trees - all decorations must be removed - and do not place your tree in a plastic bag.
