Newton City Hall Has A Human Resources Director Now
Mayor Ruthanne Fuller named the HR Director in her State of The City Address Tuesday night.

NEWTON, MA — In her first State of the City address Newton Mayor Ruthanne Fuller announced she'd hired Karen Glasgow, to fill the years-long empty Human Resource Director seat.
"One of my first priorities as Mayor was to fill that open position because people are our most important resource. Karen comes to Newton with deep experience in labor relations and human resources for the City of Boston in their Law, Fire and Public School Departments. You will soon find that she is strong and smart, warm and wise," said the mayor in her speech.
According to Walen's LinkedIn profile, she was the director of labor relations for Boston Public schools for the past four years. Before that she was the deputy legal commissioner for labor legal affairs for the Boston Firefighters for five and a half years. Before that she represented the City of Boston and employees in litigation all civil cases involving civil rights for 7 years.
