Newton Community Pride Reveals Fall Grant Recipients

NEWTON, MA — The nonprofit Newton Community Pride will fund a variety of local arts and culture events through micro-grants coming up in the city. Newton Community Pride offers two grants cycles per calendar year, with the next application deadline coming up in March.

Newton Community Pride (NCP) announces its community micro grant recipients for its fall
2022 grant cycle.

“We are delighted and proud to offer financial support for local arts and culture events, service and beautification programs consistent with our mission.” stated BlairLesser Sullivan, Executive Director of Newton Community Pride. “The seed money NCP provides is important to our community as it invigorates and culturally uplifts all who live, work and create here.”

NCP’s fall community micro grant recipients include a multicultural dance performance by
Andromeda Belly Dance, Don’t Forget Your Art! event in Auburndale, FenceART, Haiku
Newton, an Interfaith Music Night of community & diversity at Trinity Parish of Newton Centre,
Year of the Rabbit Lantern Celebration hosted by the Chinese Language School and Jamaal
Eversley’s Slam Theatre. In addition, recipients include a service project by Service Stars after
school program and two spring beautification projects including a container gardening
program for residents at the Newton Housing Authority’s Horace Mann complex and an invasive
pull and plantings by the Friends of Kennard Park.

Newton Community Pride is a 501c3 organization building community for all to enjoy through
free arts and culture programming, public art, beautification projects and volunteerism. NCP will
