Newton Cop Log: A & B Suspect Caught, Recycling Bins Stolen, Thief Steals Burberry Jackets from Bloomingdale's
The following are excerpts from the Newton police log. An arrest or charge does not indicate a conviction.

Fri., Sept. 19
- A woman on Dalby Street said someone stole her trash and recycling bins.
- A woman on Temple Street said someone broke her side glass door in an attempted robbery.
- Staff at the Bloomingdale’s at The Mall at Chestnut Hill said a man stole a pair of Burberry jackets and ran away after being confronted. He was described as a black man about 6 feet tall, with a muscular build. He was wearing a tan bucket hat, dark glasses, green jacket, and jeans. He was last seen running north through the mall parking garage towards Hammond Pond Parkway.
Sat., Sept. 20
- An officer found a gray Dodge caravan on Jasset St. with the driver’s side window smashed out.
- A man said he was videotaping a canoe event for a class drip at Charles River Canoe & Kayak on Commonwealth Avenue and when he returned to his vehicle the driver’s side window was smashed. Nothing was stolen.
- A woman said someone broke into her Walnut Street home and stole a bunch of jewelry.
- A woman on Cotton Street said someone stole all the hubcaps off her vehicle.

- Staff at the CVS in Newton Centre said a man stole facial soap. He was described as a 40-year-old white man with a black bead, baseball cap, and black shirt. He was carrying a green Stop & Shop bag. He was last seen headed to the Panera Bread on Beacon Street.
- Bruce Davis, 58, of Roxbury, was arrested on a warrant for assault and battery and threatening.
- Someone broke into a 2007 Toyota Prius on Talbot Street.
- Someone broke into a 2007 Toyota Camry on Henshaw Street and stole an iPhone 4S. The vehicle owner said it was the third time in as many months his vehicle was broken into.
