Newton Cop Log: Gun, Leaf Blowers, Safe Stolen
The following are excerpts from the Newton police log. An arrest or charge does not indicate a conviction.

Mon., Sept. 8
- Jonathan Payne, a 23-year-old homeless man, was charged with larceny after allegedly stealing a safe from a home on Christina Street. The safe had cash, jewelry, and car keys in it, the owner said.
- A woman said her laptop was stolen from her Jeep on Hunnewell Avenue.
- Roman Volostnykh, 26, of Newton, was arrested on warrants for drug possession and motor vehicle violations.
Tue., Sept. 9
- A man said his car was broken into on Elliot Memorial Memorial Drive. The thief stole a pair of Ray Ban sunglasses.
- Two backpack leaf blowers and a loading ramp were stolen from a trailer on Newtonville Avenue.
- An 18-year-old from Newton was charged with stealing a gun from a residence on Washington Street.
