Newton Cop Log: Sleepy Man Found with Large Amount of Heroin, Stolen Recycling Bin, Driver Finds Car on Milk Crates
The following are excerpts from the Newton police log. An arrest or charge does not indicate a conviction.

Thur., Sept. 4
- A bicycle was stolen at the Newton Center T station.
- A 42-year-old man from Newton was charged with possession of heroin, alprazolam, and gabapentin. He was arrested after police received a call at about 6 p.m. saying he was sitting on a bench on Ash Street and looked like he may not b breathing. An officer was dispatched to the scene and talked to the man, who fell asleep and would not respond to the officer’s questions. A sizable amount of heroin was found on him and he was charged with intent to distribute the drug.
- A vehicle was stolen on Fairlee Road.
- A resident of Bowers Street said someone stole his recycling bin.
- A resident of Orchard Street said someone stole the tires and rims from his vehicle. When he woke up in the morning, he found the vehicle on milk crates.
