Newton Craft Beer Cellar Relocating

The company said its Centre Street location was "too big and too pricey."

The Newton Craft Beer Cellar on Centre Street will close Wednesday and relocate.

The store opened a little over a year ago.

“We picked a difficult first location,” the company said in a statement. “While we love our space, it was ultimately too big and too pricey.”

The store will reopen at another location in Newton in February. The company didn’t reveal the exact location.

Today and Wednesday, the store is offering a 10 percent discount on beer, wine, sake, and cider and 15 percent off glassware.

Founders Suzanne Schalow and Kate Baker launched Craft Beer Cellar in Belmont in 2010. There are now about a dozen locations spread across Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, Rhode Island, Missouri, and Florida.
