Newton Electrical Fire Causes Estimated $50,000 in Damage: Fire Department
The blaze in an attic on Webster Street was quickly knocked down Wednesday afternoon.

NEWTON, MA – A fire broke out in the attic of a home on Webster Street Wednesday, resulting in an estimated tens of thousands of dollars of damage despite being quickly contained.
Emergency crews responded to 128 Webster St. around 1:42 p.m. for a report of a house fire. First responders reported flames in the attic.

The fire was knocked down shortly after 2 p.m.

After an investigation Wednesday afternoon, the cause of the blaze was determined to be electrical, according to the Newton Fire Department.
Investigators and the City Elec. inspector have determined the cause of the fire at 128 Webster St. to be electrical in nature.

Preliminary estimates say the fire resulted in approximately $50,000 of damage.
