Newton Expands NewMo Transportation Program
Starting Monday, anyone age 13 and older can take a ride anywhere in Newton for just $2.

NEWTON, MA — Newton has expanded its NewMo transportation program so more residents can get a ride to any place in the city they need to go.
Starting Monday, anyone age 13 and older can take a ride anywhere in Newton for just $2. In addition, service will now begin at 7 a.m. and run through 6:30 p.m., giving teachers and students a new way to get to school and activities.
"We want you to love NewMo," said Mayor Ruthanne Fuller in an update Friday. "To prepare for this expansion and ensure the system gets you where you need to go, we have increased the number of drivers and vehicles on the road and have brought on a dedicated customer service team to assist you."

"Remember that NewMo is a new version of public transportation; the on-demand, shared system just looks a little different than traditional public transportation," she continued. "Our goal is to provide you reliable, on-demand, shared trips with average wait times of less than 30 minutes, although occasionally they may be more."
Seniors who sign up specifically for the NewMo Senior Service can also pre-book rides to medical appointments by calling the call center before 5:00 p.m. the night before at 617-655-8019. Those currently paying a reduced rate below $2 will not be required to pay more and all seniors will continue to receive door-to-door service and weekend transportation.
