Newton Fire Department Promotions, New Recruits
There's going to be some new faces around the NFD.

NEWTON, MA – The Newton Fire Department named three new probationary firefighters and promoted several at a ceremony at City Hall Friday. Zachary Franks, Anthony Fontecchio and Joseph Yerardi were sworn in as the newest members of the Newton Fire Department.
Mike Gentile, Joe Podolski, Paul Baima, Robert Tempesta, John O'Brien and Mark O'Hare were all promoted to lieutenant, and Mark Hernandez was promoted to captain.

The Newton Police Department also saw a change to its ranks last week. Sgt. Ken Cahoon retired after 34 years with the NPD.
