Newton Fire Department Raises Over $6K for Family of Fallen Firefighter
The department held a "boot drive" over the weekend for the family of Watertown firefighter Joseph Toscano, who died earlier this month.

NEWTON, MA – The Newton Fire Department raised more than $6,000 at its "boot drive" over the weekend for Watertown firefighter Joseph Toscano.
Participants were asked to bring cash or a check to Station 2 and drop in the firefighter's boot. All proceeds went to the Toscano family.
Toscano, 54, was a married father of five children, all between the ages of 12 and 19. He died March 17 after collapsing at the scene of a two-alarm fire in Watertown.
