Newton Fire: Parsons Street Fire Could Have Been Much Worse
Newton Fire Department officials estimate $50,000 worth of damages to the home that caught fire yesterday on Parsons Street.

Today Newton Fire Department said faulty wiring was what caused the fire that left a two family home on Parsons Street with $50,000 worth of damages yesterday. No one was injured and things could have been worse, say firefighters.
"Early detection and an aggressive attack made for a quick stop. It would have been much worse given another 5-10 minutes," said Lt. Eric Fricke of the Newton Fire Department. Want more Newton news? Sign up for free.
