For the caroling crowd, the event will also feature a holiday sing-a-long.

NEWTON, MA – Thanksgiving has come and gone, and while the food coma may be lingering, it's officially the start of the holiday season.

As such, Newton will light its holiday decorations Thursday, Dec. 1 at 6 p.m. at City Hall's Newton Cultural Center.

According to Newton Community Pride, the event will also feature a holiday sing-a-long with the Stacey Peasley Band, so make sure those vocal chords are warm and brush up on your carols. Complimentary refreshments will be provided by PhysicianOne Urgent Care.
