Newton Land Use Committee To Review 7 Requests At July 27 Meeting

NEWTON, MA — The Newton City Council Land Use Committee is set to have a busy meeting Tuesday eventing, with seven requests up for review.
This week's meeting agenda includes a request for a special permit extension that would allow housing construction at the Chestnut Hill Square Development to continue through November 15, 2026 and a request to build a 12-unit development on Jackson St. in Newton Center.
The committee will also review a request for permission to install a drive-in at 940 Boylston St., which is currently a Dunkin' Donuts store, and a request to remove an appointment-only requirement and change the hours of operation at Garden Remedies dispensary at 697 Washington St.

Other items on the agenda include a request to extend the ceiling height in a single-story rear addition at 9 Old Orchard Rd., a request to construct a two-story rear addition and patios and increase the parking area at 38 Richardson St., and a request to allow a detached oversized accessory apartment at 63 Bourne St.
