Newton Man Arrested for Drunk Driving Plus This Week's Crime Stats: Police Log

Newton Police made an arrest on Wednesday. Plus: Crime stats for the past week.

Newton Police said they only made one arrest this week. The following is from Newton Police. An arrest does not indicate a conviction. And all suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Follow the Newton Patch on Facebook.

Drunk Driving: Gregory David Brown, 44, of Maynard, was arrested on May 3 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and child endangerment. Newton Police were called to the corner of Walnut and Mill streets for a report of a crash involving injuries. One car appeared to have rear ended from another. When they arrived, police said they saw Brown get out of his car, stumble toward the rear of his car and then fall. Someone helped Brown to the curb as he was unable to stand up on his own. Police said he smelled of alcohol.
