When police arrived, they noted a green Toyota driving through the Center Street lot. Its headlights were off, and the driver started straight ahead “as if avoiding all that was going on as he passed by.” Police pulled the car over, and found both men in the front were bloodied and had clearly been involved in a fight.

At Beth Israel, police talked to the victims, who said that they had been on a party bus headed for Worcester, but the bus had to return from Worcester because the destination had been shut down due to fighting. When the bus got back to Brookline, several people on board were “restless at the fact that they did not attend the party.” One, described as a “light-skinned Hispanic-looking male with black, medium hair and a long nose” (later identified as Demitrov) was reportedly accosting the bus driver, and he had to be escorted from the bus.

In the lot, the two brothers said Demitrov and a dark-skinned black man started fights with people who were exiting the bus in the lot, at one point fighting with people about a lost jacket. As people were separating, it was reported that Demitrov reached down by his waist and said, “I got something for you.”

The victim said he felt further threatened by this and he and his brother and two other friends walked away, and later learned that he had sustained a tench inch long laceration on the left side of his chest near his neck during the fight. He required stitches.

Police interviewed people at the Center Street lot, and compiled a photo array to show the brothers in the ER. Both pointed to Deimitrov as the person who was involved in the fight.
