Newton Man's Jimi Hendrix Film Wins Emmy

“Hear My A Comin’,” a documentary on the life of Jimi Hendrix, this week won an Emmy for sound mixing.

The film was produced by Newton’s John McDermott. It was also nominated for picture editing.

The film “traces the legendary guitarist’s remarkable journey from his hardscrabble beginnings in Seattle, through his stint as a US Army paratrooper and as an unknown sideman until his discovery and international stardom.”
