Newton North Boys Face Catholic Memorial in Basketball Finals
The Boys South Division 1 champion will be crowned Friday.
NEWTON, MA - The Newton North boys basketball team will take on Catholic Memorial Friday for the South Division 1 title.
The Tigers came into the tournament the No. 2-ranked team, establishing themselves as a dominant force with commanding wins in the early rounds.
They faced their toughest matchup in the semifinals, where opponent BC High scored 12 unanswered points to close the lead to just two. The Tigers ultimately pulled off the hard-fought victory, winning 61-55.

The Catholic Memorial Knights, ranked No. 1, have handily beaten most of their opponents in the tournament, with the exception of a 3-point quarterfinal win over Braintree.
