Newton North, Newton South Baseball Kick off Playoff Tournament This Week

Newton South will play Cambridge Rindge and Latin on Thursday while Newton North will have to wait until later this week to see who they will play in the first round of the MIAA Division 1 North tournament on Saturday.

Newton South, which finished with a 10-10 record, is the number 21 seed in the tournament. Their opponent, Cambridge Rindge and Latin, is the number 12 seed and had a 13-7 record this year.

Newton North, meanwhile, will play the winner of Acton-Boxborough/Andover, which play on Thursday afternoon. Newton North is the number three seed in the tournament and had a 17-3 record.
