Newton Police Will Hold Active Shooter Drill on Saturday
Police warn that it will sound very realistic, but residents should not be alarmed.

NEWTON, MA - Newton Police will hold an active shooter drill this Saturday at Newton-Wellesley Hospital.
The drill will begin at 7:30 a.m. at the hospital's Outpatient Rehabilitation Services at 159 Wells Ave. and run until about 1 p.m.
Police advise that though it is a drill, it will sound very realistic. Sirens, fire alarms and gunshots will be heard, but officers will use blanks during the training.

Additionally, there will be increased police activity and traffic in the area, due to the number of officers participating in the exercise.
Residents are advised to not be alarmed, as it is only a drill.
