Newton Police: Homes Broken Into on Playstead Road
Breaking and entering incidents reported at two homes between 2:40 and 5 a.m.

At around 2:40 a.m. on June 1, 2015, Newton Police officers were sent to Playstead Road (Newton Corner/Boston-Line), for a report of a breaking and entering into a residence incident, according to an alert.
According to the homeowner, he was awakened by noises in his home. When he went to investigate, he saw a large male standing in his basement. The suspect then ran into an adjacent room and fled through a basement door. Officers checked the area with negative results.
About two hours later, officers responded to another residence on Playstead Road for a report of a breaking and entering in progress, according to an alert.

According to one of the victims, they were awakened by an unknown male standing in their bedroom. The suspect asked the victims for some items and when they got out of bed, one of them either bumped into the suspect or was pushed by him, causing the victim to fall on the floor. After obtaining an item, the suspect fled.
The suspect is described as being 6-feet tall, large build and wearing a hoodie or jumpsuit. He was also said to be soft spoken.

It appears the suspect unlocked a door to gain access into this residence. Newton Police along with a State Police K9 unit checked the area, with negative results.
