Newton Police Increase Parking Patrols For Holiday Season
"Operation Access" includes increased enforcement of those illegally using accessible parking spaces and blocking curb cuts.

NEWTON, MA — Newton police are increasing parking patrols and violation enforcement for the holiday season with an eye toward making it easier for those in need of accessible parking spaces and curb cuts to find and use them.
"Operation Access: Holiday Parking Enforcement" will run through Dec. 31 with officers monitoring high-traffic areas and issuing tickets to those parked in accessible spaces without a valid RMV disability placard or license plate.
Police said tickets will also be issued to vehicles blocking accessible curb cuts on both private and public property. Officers will take photos to document the violations.
