Newton Police Log: Grinch Rips Up Christmas Cards; Man Charged After Refusing to Leave Biltmore Bar; Educational CDs Stolen from Prius

Fri., Dec. 19

  • A knife and a lanyard were stolen from a vehicle on Oak Cliff Road.
  • Someone broke into a Land Rover on Hillside Avenue and ripped up a bunch of Christmas cards inside.
  • Someone broke into a home on Washington Street and stole cash, three watches, a gold ring, and a necklace.
  • Justin Alvarez, 26, of Newton, was arrested on a warrant for larceny and breaking and entering.

Sat., Dec. 20

  • Six CDs about western civilization were stolen from a Prius in the area of Hawthorne Park.
  • John Kazimer, 23, of Dedham, was charged with malicious damage to a vehicle and resisting arrest following an incident on Richardson Street.
  • A 29-year-old man from Newton on Pearl Street was charged with improper storage of a firearm and illegal possession of ammunition.

  • Lixin Fu, 47, of Newton, was charged with disorderly conduct for refusing to leave the Biltmore Bar & Grill.

Mon., Dec. 22

  • Timothy O’Hara, 31, of Stoughton, was arrested on a warrant on Boylston Street.
  • Following a traffic stop on Cleveland Street, Jason Madden, 33, of Waltham, was charged with methadone possession and an inspection sticker violation.
  • Michael Jarvis-Vega, 31, of Lynn, was arrested on a warrant for drug possession.
