Newton Police Log: Teen Charged with Stealing Car

Thur., Oct. 24
- A man said someone stole three pairs of sunglasses, loose change, and a car starter from his vehicle on Deborah Road.
- A 19-year-old teenager from Newton was charged with stealing a vehicle, unlicensed driving, and leaving the scene of a crash.
- A Waterford Crystal Hurricane Lamp was stolen from a residence on Centre Street.
Fri., Oct. 25
- A woman said her Toyota RAV4 parked on Woodward Street was sprayed with chocolate sauce. Donuts were also thrown at it. Police searched the area with negative results.
- A man said someone broke into his Lexus on Olde Field Road.
- A man said someone stole his bicycle, which was parked at the Newton Public Library.

- A Boston College student said he was attacked by two men on Commonwealth Avenue.
- A 2011 Volkswagen Jetta was stolen on Birch Hill Road.
- A man said his Mercedes was broken into on Deborah Road.
- A worker at the CVS on Needham Street said a man came in with a bunch of Walgreens bags and stuffed them with items then left the store. The suspect was described as a black man in his 40s, weighing about 200 pounds.
