Newton Police: Medication Take Back Day This Saturday
Residents can return prescription medication to prevent its theft or abuse.

NEWTON, MA - Newton Police are hosting a "Medication Take Back Day" this Saturday for residents to drop off their old, unused and expired medication.
Held in conjunction with Newton Health and Human Services and the DEA, the aim of the initiative is to prevent the abuse and theft of prescription drugs. In addition, improper disposal of some medication may pose a health hazard in the environment.
The drop off and collection area will be at the Newton Police Department Garage, located behind headquarters at 1321 Washington Street, West Newton.

Intravenous solutions, injectable drugs or needles, illegal drugs and weapons will not be accepted.
Needles may be dropped off at the Rumford Avenue Resource Recovery Center in Auburndale every Monday-Saturday from 7:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Proof of Newton residency is required.
