Newton Police: Petty Crime Duos, Breaking and Entering at Church
Crime log from March 3-7. All parties have been charged but not convicted.

NEWTON, MA - March 3
- Police responded to a reported breaking and entering at a residence. The homeowners told the officer they had allegedly been robbed of an Xbox One game console and spare change.
- Officers responded to claims of a damaged vehicle at 1900 Washington Street and confirmed that the car's front rim was damaged.
- Elci Duraes, 49, of Marlborough, was cited for driving without a valid license. Officers pulled Duraes over after running a check on Duraes's black Toyota Avalon and determining the driver was unlicensed. Duraes was pulled over at the intersection of Centre Street and Paul Street and issued a criminal citation.
March 4
- Police responded to reports of a past robbery at the AT&T store at 3 Boylston St. In security footage from Feb. 25, an individual was reportedly observed stealing three items from the store - a pair of Bose headphones, worth approximately $227, and two phone chargers, worth $45 each. The suspect was described as in his late thirties or early forties with grey hair and was wearing jeans, a white shirt, blue Red Sox baseball cap, white shoes and a blue North Face. He was also reported to be with another man, who distracted an employee while the suspect stole the items. He attempted to come back in and steal more, but was unable to as employees were suspicious of his return.
- Sergey Terentiev, 54, of Lynn, was taken into custody after officers learned there was an active warrant for his arrest.
- A woman reported her wallet stolen while she was shopping at the TJ Maxx at 260 Needham St. Inside the wallet were a number of cards, including the woman's driver's license, credit card and three debit cards. She reported having a conversation with a man who was carrying a number of shirts and told her he was shopping for his mother. The woman believes this may have been a distraction while someone snuck up and stole her wallet from her purse. Shortly after the theft the cards were used to make purchases totaling approximately $6,000. The suspects were described as a white male and a white female, possibly Hispanic, in their early thirties.

- Michael Diroma, Jr., 23, of Newton, was arrested at his California Street residence for suspicion of armed robbery and armed burglary.
- Officers responded to reports of a stolen traffic signal in the area of Centre Street and Walnut Street. Two white, possibly college-aged males reportedly removed the traffic signal and placed it in a silver sedan. Police contacted Dagle Electric, who came and took care of the live wires and indicated they would replace the light.
March 6
- Police responded to a report of a breaking and entering at United Parish of Auburndale at 64 Hancock St. A window in one of the doors had been broken and the perpetrator or perpetrators had stolen four TVs and three DVD/VCR players.
- Vagner de Souza Paula, 21, of Waltham, was arrested after he failed to stop at a red light at the intersection of Lexington Street and River Street. Officers arrested Paula and charged him with driving with a suspended license and cited him for failing to stop at a red light.

- Officers responded to reports that a sweeper and a bucket were stolen from a construction site at Park Street and Franklin Street on Friday.
