Newton Police Release 911 Call from Shooting at Cristofori Jewelers

Newton Police have issued a copy of the 911 tape from . The man who made the call was one of three people inside the jewelry store at the time of the shooting.
According to Newton Police Lt. Bruce Apotheker, the shooting was not a robbery attempt and the suspect did not try to gain entry to the building. At the same time, the act was not random, Apotheker said, as the suspect deliberately walked up to the glass door with intentions of shooting through it.

The suspect--who is described as a white male, 5'10"-6' tall wearing jeans, dark sneakers and a green hooded sweatshirt--walked up to the front door of the jewelers and shot at the glass eight times. The gun was described as a .45-caliber silver handgun.
No one was injured in the shooting.
